Maillage
Previewed at Collectible Fair New York. Playing with dualities of heft and lightness, infinity and constraint, sculptural columns of light are realized in a warm satin nickel. Designed to exist in a state of anticipatory suspension, the chain-like form descend from the ceiling and hover unnaturally low to the floor over a tinted mirror, allowing viewers to experience each link’s inherent sense of tension up close.
A musing in geometry, hexagonal slices are offset and overlapped, beaming a sliver of light onto its counterpart. The soft reflection created offers a romanced glow to a room while obscuring the light source. These segments of light are connected by open links creating spaciousness through pattern. Maillage illustrates a portion of a larger custom installation and is offered in a variety of finishes and colors.
Maillage in French refers to an arrangement of interconnected elements that create a structure – emphasizing the way in which these components connect to form a cohesive whole.

Hathor
Hathor Collection, the first collaboration between Farrah Sit and TRNK, is an inquiry into a dreamscape world in which all life exists in equilibrium.
The collection is inspired by a pilgrimage to ancient monolithic structures, their overwhelming yet tender sense of divinity, and their paradoxical timelessness. In deference to the gentleness of raw material, each design balances levity and weight, negative and positive space. Hathor represents grace as a measure of strength, its generous curves and continuous forms evoking the cyclical, infinite exchanges between past and present.TRNK collection: Leather sofa, coffee table, side table

Serpentine
In this sandy slipcast ceramic wall sconce, generous curves are paired with crisp edges. The repetition of geometry creates a spatial flow as it snakes up and off the wall. A sculptural lighting piece, its essence is an exploration of the future’s past. Crafted from unique grit clay, the organic distribution of specks gives it depth and distinctive character, adding warmth to an interior. Nested into the sloping curves, the handblown glass diffuser creates a whimsical moment that emits a soft glow of light.

About
Farrah Sit designs evocative lighting, furniture, and sculptural home objects. Her work surfaces beauty from wells of tension, foregrounding unseen space and forces: the moment breath is lost to anticipation, when an icicle is about to plummet, a band to snap, a wave to crash, an echo to fade.
Farrah’s work expresses her process of material reduction, wedding spareness with the inherent grace of natural elements. Each piece is a contemplation on essentiality.
